Staffing companies are in the unique position of collecting personally identifiable information from individual applicants for employment with clients of the staffing company. Since the US has no national privacy law, knowledge of applicable state laws is essential. California and Illinois are poised to enact new laws.

But that’s not the end of the inquiry --- the European General Data Protection Regulation, which took effect on May 25, 2018, governs how businesses, wherever they are located, must manage the personal data of European citizens and residents (even those who are living in the USA).

In this webinar, we’ll cover the key provisions of the GDPR and the privacy laws of New York, California and Illinois. We’ll also review the key actions that businesses are taking to comply with these laws. Lastly, we’ll look at whether existing commercial general liability policies cover privacy and cyber security risks.
