The New York State paid sick leave law and amendments to New York City’s paid sick leave law (the NYC Earned Safe and Sick Time Act) each took effect on September 30, 2020. NYSA’s Legislative Chair, James A. Essey, and employment attorney Andrew P. Yacyshyn will address employer obligations under these laws, the differences and interplay between the laws, and the impact on the staffing industry.
