Lobby Day is coming up on Tuesday, May 1st.  The first appointment at the Capitol is at 9:30 a.m. Last year, NYSA members met with fourteen legislators directly and through this effort, we were able to tell our story and avoid costly and burdensome legislation passing.  We can't do it alone - we need your input and presence!  You owe it to your business and to yourself.

This year, we are excited to offer a special education program the day before Lobby Day on Monday, April 30th.  The program will feature Peter Crouse, NYSA's New York State Lobbyist, and James A. Essey, President/Chief Executive Officer, The TemPositions Group of Companies. The 2-hour presentation will cover two topics:

"Getting to Yes: Negotiating Client and MSP Contracts"
Presented by James Essey

Your staffing company is on the cusp of landing a major client it’s been pursuing for some time, but one obstacle looms large: negotiating the contract. Whether it’s a client’s contract or one proffered by a managed services provider, refusing to sign indemnity, confidentiality, and other contract clauses could sink the deal—but signing could lead to significant liability for your company. What do you do? In this session, Jim Essey, CEO of The TemPositions Group of Companies and chair of the ASA Legal/Legislative Committee will identify which issues you should be concerned with in client agreements and share negotiating strategies his company has used to get those issues resolved in a staffing firm’s favor. He’ll also save time for questions, so bring your thorniest customer contract issues with you to the session.

"New York State Legislative Update"
Presented by Peter Crouse

New York Staffing Association's lobbyist will provide attendees an update on important legislation affecting staffing firms in the state of New York.  Attendees will discuss the New York State Fair Pay Act, Salary History Ban, flexible working arrangements, background checks, payroll cards and more!
