  We are excited to invite you to participate in NYSA’s Annual New York State Lobby Day in Albany! This is a critical opportunity for our members to directly engage with state legislators and advocate for policies that protect and advance the staffing industry in New York.

  Why Your Voice Matters:

  This year’s legislative session includes multiple bills that directly impact our industry, including:

  • Proposals to restrict the use of automated employment decision tools (AEDTs) and shift compliance burdens onto employers rather than developers
  • New legislation seeking to expand wage theft enforcement, introduce private rights of action, and increase liability risks for staffing firms
  • Ongoing efforts to reform Article 29K’s registration and reporting requirements on healthcare staffing
  • Legislation requiring retail, food service, and cleaning employers to give employees 7 days' advance notice of schedules and guarantee minimum pay when shifts are cut or employees are placed on call with short notice.

  Your participation is vital to educate lawmakers, share real-world impacts, and secure policies that support staffing firms, employees, and the clients we serve.

  Let’s make sure Albany hears the collective voice of New York’s staffing industry. Together, we can protect our businesses and champion workforce solutions that work for everyone.

  Meetings with legislators will start around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in Albany the night before.  If you are not able to come up the night before, please plan on arriving prior to 9:00 a.m. on March 20th as the first appointment is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The meetings wrap up for the day around 3:00 p.m.

  All attendees will also be required to attend one Zoom meeting with NYSA's legislative committee and lobbyists prior to Lobby Day to review important legislative topics. 
  

  NYSA is recommending the Hilton Albany for overnight accommodations.  The hotel is within walking distance of the Capital and gets booked very quickly.
